Management

		Andrew Mowbray (Co-Director) Professor of Law and Information Technology, UTS Email: andrew@austlii.edu.au   Tel: (02) 9514 4921 Home Page: http://www2.austlii.edu.au/~andrew/. (Co-Director since January 1995) Andrew is the principal software author and technical director of AustLII. He has degrees in Computing Science and Law. He wrote the sino search engine, the hypertext markup software, and the ysh inferencing engine. Pre-AustLII, Andrew wrote the DataLex Workstation Software, the AIRS free text retrieval engine and the LES legal expert system shell. He teaches and publishes in computerised legal research, computerisation of law and information technology law.
		Philip Chung (Co-Director & Executive Director) Associate Professor, UNSW Law & Justice Email: philip@austlii.edu.au   Tel: (02) 9514 4921 Home Page: http://www2.austlii.edu.au/~philip/. (Appointed 26 February 1996; Executive Director since 1999) Philip holds degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Sydney, with honours in Computer Science and Operations Research as well as a PhD in Law from UNSW. Philip manages the staff and resources of AustLII and jointly oversees the technical development of AustLII's projects and system administration. In addition to his responsibilities as AustLII's Executive Director Philip manages our primary legal materials, and has developed all of our facilities to automate the receipt and processing of cases and other materials. He is experienced in large scale legal publishing on the Internet, computerised legal research, computer legal applications and automated text processing.

Staff

		Armin Wittfoth (Project Officer, Primary Materials) Email: armin@austlii.edu.au (Appointed 26 March 2001) Armin has degrees in Science, Arts and Laws from Sydney University.  He was also awarded Diploma in Mainframe Programming by a joint venture of TAFE and IBM. Armin is currently working on AustLII's primary legal materials, as well as on AustLII's project to automate improvements to the authority and interactivity of primary legal materials. His duties also include converting data for publication on the Internet, maintaining and updating databases of primary legal materials including the NSW and Queensland legislation databases.
		Jones Olatunji (System Administrator) Email: jones@austlii.edu.au (Appointed 4 December 2001) Jones is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and holds a Masters degree in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Wollongong. Jones is, with Philip Chung, jointly responsible for AustLII's system administration. His duties include administering servers running email, web pages, databases, firewalls and other applications; configuration, optimisation, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware and software; backup and recovery of data; and site security.
		Jill Matthews (Project Officer) Email: jill@austlii.edu.au Jill has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Sydney. She is a legal indexer and editor as well as the principal of HiTech Editing Pty Ltd. She specialises in indexing legal periodicals and Internet legal research. She currently works part-time on the WorldLII Catalog.
		Giovanni Crasto (Finance and Administration Manager) (Appointed 23 January 2012) Giovanni is a graduate in Commerce and a Chartered Accountant. He is responsible for the Financial Management of the AustLII Foundation. He has over 15 years experience in Accounting and 5 years within the Not For Profit sector.
		Richard Hunter (Development Manager) (Appointed 6 February 2012) Tel: (02) 9514 4930 Richard has a BA(Hons) and MA in Theatre Studies from the University of New South Wales. He has extensive operational, administrative and strategic planning experience in public sector cultural organisations and universities. He was an event producer for the Sydney Opera House for many years before transitioning to fundraising and community development roles at the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney. Richard maintains and develops AustLII's relationships with its key stakeholders and seeks to develop strategic partnerships to maintain, diversify and expand its funding base.
		Chris Kenward (Australian Databases Manager) (Appointed 30 September 2013) Chris has a Master of Applied Science in Library & Information Management from Charles Sturt University, and a Bsc (Hons) in Computer Science from the Polytechnic of Wales. He has over 15 years experience in commercial software design and development. He is responsible for managing Australian database content. He is also working on the mobile applications project.
		Jennifer Kwong (Project Officer) (Appointed 18 November 2013 part time; 18 November 2014 full time) Jennifer has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Art Theory from UNSW Australia. She has experience in various organisations that seek to improve access to justice through better access to legal advice and information (Redfern Legal Centre; Arts Law Centre of Australia; Australian Pro Bono Centre) and recommending reforms to law (NSW Law Reform Commission; National Copyright Unit, NSW Department of Education & Communities). Her responsibilities at AustLII involve managing, updating and expanding the Australasian Legal Scholarship Library.
		David Bramston (Project Officer) Email: david@austlii.edu.au (Appointed 1 February 2016) David has degrees in Computer Science and Law. He is working on the International Law Library project.

Graham Greenleaf (Founding Co-Director) Independent Scholar (formerly Professor of Law and Information Systems, UNSW Sydney) Email: g.greenleaf@iinet,net.au Home Page: http://www2.austlii.edu.au/~graham/. (Founding Co-Director; Co-Director Jan 1995- Jun 2016; Senior Researcher July 2016-Feb 2024) From 1995-2016 Graham played a key role as Co-Director in the creation and development of AustLII and related international projects. As Senior Researcher since 2016, his role was both as an adviser to the two Co-Directors, and as a researcher with a major involvement in many specific projects on AustLII and associated LIIs. He was awarded an AM for his contributions to free access to law and to privacy protection, has degrees in Arts and Law, and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law (FAAL) and of the Australian Computer Society (FACS).
